EPI had originally merged with Semiconductor Enclosures Inc. (SEI) to create the compliment of ceramic and glass-to-metal technologies. The companies have grown to become an expert provider of hermetic microelectronic packaging solutions.

In July 2022, EPI was acquired by Douglas Electrical Components, based in Randolph, NJ. Douglas Electrical manufactures hermetic electrical feedthrough and connectivity solutions using an epoxy-based technology. Solution span various industries and applications. The portfolio now maintains a very broad range of capabilities for attributes such as pressure, temperature, mechanical packaging, size, density, and power.
